Color Brush
The Color brush of Inpaint changes the colors of an image you already have: white hair to blond, blue eyes to green, a red shirt to black. You paint the new color directly on the image, and the AI redraws the painted strokes so they blend into the picture with proper shading. It always produces a new image; your original is never modified.
Available on Yiff Master and above
Opening the Color Brush
- Open Inpaint - the button on an image page, or the brush icon on a fresh result tile.
- Click the Color card at the top of the editor.
Want something reinvented too, like a new hat? Add Redraw strokes in the same edit - it is still one generation.
The Color Row
With Color selected, a single row sits under the brush cards, from left to right:
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| Color chip | Your current color and its code. Click it for the full picker - drag in the square and the hue bar, or type a hex code |
| Pipette | Click it, then the image, to reuse a color already there (or Alt+click while painting) |
| Palette | Hair, fur and eye colors one click away |
| Recent colors | At the end of the row, the colors you used that are not in the palette |
On a phone, swipe the row sideways to see every color. The eraser, size and undo buttons below it work the same for both brushes - see Inpainting.
Creativity
The Creativity slider in the right panel sets how much the AI redraws your strokes (default 55%).
- Lower stays closest to the original drawing, just recolored.
- Higher lets the AI redraw more texture and shading. The color stays the one you painted.
Tips
- Leave the prompt as it is. Inside the painted area, the colors you paint win over the ones the prompt names.
- No need to be precise. Each color only goes onto the main area under your stroke - the hair, not the sky or the face your brush touched on the way. Just cover the whole area you want recolored.
- For a new object or shape rather than a new color, use the Redraw brush (see Inpainting).
- Each Inpaint generation counts as 1 image from your plan quota, whether you used Color, Redraw or both.
